Gas Pump Interrogation Comedy Short: Buying Fuel Has Become an Interview

The gas pump interrogation comedy short begins with a
simple mission. George is not trying to refinance his house. He is not
applying for a government security clearance. He is not signing up for a
twelve-week rewards seminar. He simply wants twenty dollars of gas.

Unfortunately, the modern gas pump has other plans. Before George can begin
filling the tank, the machine starts asking questions like it recently
graduated from detective school. ZIP code? Loyalty number? Receipt?
Car wash? Would you like to upgrade your snack experience? Would you like
to join a rewards program that requires three passwords, a mobile app, and
the name of your first childhood pet?

George’s Comedy Corner turns this familiar annoyance into a quick,
colorful animated stand-up routine. It is the kind of everyday frustration
almost everyone recognizes. You walk up to the pump expecting a
thirty-second transaction. Five minutes later, you are wondering whether
the machine is going to ask for references.

“I just wanted twenty dollars of gas. The pump wanted my ZIP code,
loyalty number, receipt choice, and possibly a co-signer.”

George Discovers That the Gas Pump Has Follow-Up Questions

Gas stations used to be simple. You pulled in, paid for fuel, and left.
Today, the gas pump behaves like a cashier, marketing department, customer
survey, snack salesman, car-wash promoter, and financial institution all
at the same time.

George stands at the pump with the patient expression of a man who has
already accepted that he may not reach his destination until next
Thursday. Every button leads to another question. Every answer unlocks a
fresh opportunity for the machine to sell him something unrelated to the
gas he originally came to buy.

Would you like a receipt?

Would you like a car wash today?

At some point, George expects the pump to ask whether he has considered
bundling his fuel purchase with a streaming service, a gym membership,
and an extended warranty for the windshield wipers.

The machine has one final surprise. With fuel prices feeling like a major
financial event, George realizes that the next logical step is probably a
payment plan.

“At these prices, the pump should ask: Would you like 72 easy payments?”

Gas Pump Interrogation Comedy Short Transcript

Here is the clean transcript from George’s latest animated stand-up
comedy short.

George:
“I just wanted twenty dollars of gas.”
George:
“The pump asked for my ZIP code, loyalty number, receipt, and a car wash.”
Gas Pump Advertisement Voice:
“Would you like to upgrade your snack experience?”
George:
“At these prices, it should ask if I want 72 easy payments.”

The joke works because it stays close to real life. Almost everyone has
stood at a gas pump pressing buttons, declining offers, and wondering why
buying fuel now requires more decisions than ordering dinner for a family
reunion.

George’s Field Notes From the Gas Station

Field Note No. 1:
Never approach a gas pump when you are in a hurry. The machine can sense
fear.
Field Note No. 2:
The “No” button is not an answer. It is merely an invitation for the next
question.
Field Note No. 3:
If the pump asks whether you want a car wash during a thunderstorm, do not
argue with it. The pump has a monthly quota.
Field Note No. 4:
If fuel prices climb much higher, bring identification, proof of income,
and a family member willing to co-sign.

Why George’s Comedy Corner Works

George’s Comedy Corner takes everyday annoyances and gives them the full
stand-up comedy treatment. George is the relaxed older comedian in the
black fedora who has seen enough of modern life to know that even a simple
trip to the gas station can become a full-length adventure.

The jokes are short, clean, relatable, and built for people who enjoy
laughing at the little frustrations that show up in daily life. No complex
setup is needed. You already know the character. You have probably argued
with the same gas pump.
