Slick & MuffinSlick and Muffin

Shopping cart race night is here, and Slick and Muffin are in the empty store parking lot with a big idea and no brakes. Slick thinks he’s a race car champion. Muffin thinks he’s about to learn a lesson, and she’s bringing a juice box to watch.

🦝 SLICK & MUFFIN · SILENT RACCOON COMEDY

Slick & Muffin in Cart-astrophe!

One raccoon, one cart, zero brakes… and one very smug sister.

It starts on a quiet, purple night in an empty store parking lot. The moon is up, the lamps are glowing, and one lonely row of red carts is waiting by the curb. Slick stands on a concrete block like a general giving orders. A tiny light bulb pops up over his head. You can almost hear it go ding. Muffin looks at the carts, looks at her brother, and gives the only answer a smart sister can give: “…No.”

Slick does not hear “no” when there is a shopping cart race on his mind. Slick never hears “no.” He hears “Please go faster.” This is the story of a shopping cart race that only one raccoon knew he was in, and the one raccoon who actually won it.

The Plan: A Shopping Cart Race Nobody Agreed To

Every great raccoon plan, and every shopping cart race, begins the same way. Slick sees something big, shiny and on wheels. Slick decides it is a rocket. Slick does not check the brakes, because carts do not have brakes, and that has never stopped him before.

Muffin, meanwhile, covers her face with both paws. Her pink bow droops a little. She has seen this movie before. She has been in this movie before. She knows exactly how the ending goes, and she would like to sit somewhere safe while it happens.

That is the heart of Slick and Muffin comedy. One sibling runs on pure confidence. The other runs on common sense and juice boxes. Put them in a parking lot with a cart, and you get a shopping cart race with one racer, zero rules and a finish line that keeps moving.

ZOOOM! Slick Takes Off

Slick jumps into the cart with his black backwards cap and his orange-and-black jacket. His arms go straight up like he is riding the biggest roller coaster in the world. The cart rockets down the lot. Streaks of light fly past. A giant comic-book “ZOOOM!” bursts across the screen.

For about three seconds of this shopping cart race, Slick is the happiest raccoon alive. He is the fastest thing in the parking lot. He is a champion. He is a legend. He is also heading straight for a curb.

Then the video does something wonderful. It freezes on Slick mid-scream, drains the color out of the picture, and slaps a nature-show label on him: SLICK (Raccoonus No-Brainicus). It is the funniest science fact you will hear all week, and honestly, it is pretty accurate.

Why Silent Comedy Works So Well

Slick and Muffin weekend shorts have no talking. The jokes live in faces, timing and speech bubbles. That is the same trick the old silent movie stars used, and it still works because everybody, at every age, understands a raccoon flying through the air with a worried face.

Kids can watch it with the sound off in a waiting room. Grown-ups can watch it in line at the store. Nobody needs a single word to know that this shopping cart race is not going to end the way Slick planned.

UH-OH: The Shopping Cart Race Takes a Turn

The cart stops. Slick does not. He sails up into the night sky, past the moon, with his paws out and his eyes as big as dinner plates. A little sign pops up beside him: “UH-OH.” It is the shortest, most honest review any shopping cart race has ever gotten.

Down below, the empty cart rolls away on its own, like it wants nothing to do with what just happened. Even the parking lot lamps seem to lean back and watch.

Muffin Wins Without Even Trying

And then, the twist. Muffin rolls into view, sitting comfortably in her own cart. She has a juice box. She has a straw. She has the calm, smug face of a raccoon who was never in danger for one second. A pink speech bubble floats over her head with one word: “Amateur.”

That single word is the whole episode. Slick did all the work, took all the risk and got all the air time. Muffin just showed up, sat down and won. If there is a lesson here, it is this: the loudest racer is not always the winner of a shopping cart race. Sometimes the winner is the one who brought a snack.

Then the big red SUBSCRIBE button slides in, and Choice1-3D is ready for next weekend.

Is Riding a Cart Ever a Good Idea?

Here is the part where Muffin would like everyone to listen. Carts are for groceries, not for racing. Real stores ask kids to sit in the seat, buckle up and never ride in the basket or on the sides. Slick is a cartoon raccoon, and cartoon raccoons bounce. People do not. So laugh at the shopping cart race on screen, and leave the stunts to Slick.

That kind of quick, funny lesson is exactly what Slick and Muffin do best. They make mistakes so kids can laugh, think and make better choices.

Meet Slick and Muffin, Heritage Hollow’s Raccoon Detectives

When they are not causing chaos in parking lots, Slick and Muffin are the stars of Heritage Hollow Adventures, a mystery book series for readers ages 9 to 12 written by Margaret Fenwick. In the books, Slick’s big ideas and Muffin’s sharp eyes help them crack clues hidden in maps, museums, trails and old mansions.

If your kids laughed at this shopping cart race video, the books give them the same two characters with real mysteries to solve. Slick still rushes in. Muffin still notices the thing everyone else missed. And yes, Muffin still usually wins.

After the shopping cart race, the best place to start is Book 1, The Map of Heritage Hollow. It is the first adventure, it sets up the whole town, and it is a perfect read for a weekend after a good laugh.

Choice1-3d

About Brad (Founder, Chaos Coordinator, CEO-ish) Hi, I’m Brad—the guy behind Choice1-3D who thought, “What if cartoons, music, and life lessons all argued in the same room?” I create Pixar-style 3D animation, comedy shorts, and original music that poke fun at real life, make you laugh, and occasionally sneak in something meaningful before the raccoons knock it over. While Henry edits everything to perfection, Gina ignores the budget, and the raccoons eat literally everything, I keep the lights on, the ideas flowing, and the stories coming. My desk is mostly notes, coffee, and bills—but somehow it all turns into fun. Choice1-3D exists because life is loud, weird, and funny… and sometimes the best way to understand it is through a cartoon raccoon and a good laugh. Welcome to the madness. 😄
