What Not to Say to Your Wife
One dangerous question. One confident husband. One pillow waiting outside.
What not to say to your wife should probably be taught in school, discussed during premarital counseling, and printed on a laminated emergency card for every husband in America. In this animated Choice1-3D comic strip, a woman asks one of the most dangerous questions in married life: “Does this make me look bigger?” Her husband has several safe answers available. Unfortunately, he chooses the answer most likely to end with a pillow, a travel bag, and a quiet night under the stars.

Marriage Survival Rule Number One: Choose Your Words Carefully
Some questions are not really questions. They are verbal obstacle courses. A husband may think he is being asked for an honest opinion, but he is actually being tested on diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and his ability to detect danger before walking directly into it.
Our husband begins the evening indoors, wearing a cowboy hat and the confidence of a man who has not yet realized his life is about to change. His wife stands in front of the mirror wearing a yellow dress. She asks the question every experienced husband recognizes immediately:
“Does this make me look bigger?”
There are many acceptable answers. “You look beautiful” is a classic. “That color looks great on you” is another safe option. A strategic husband may suddenly remember that the smoke detector needs batteries. Any of these choices could preserve peace inside the home.
But this man is not interested in safety. He points one finger into the air like a professor delivering a scientific discovery and says:
“No. The dress is doing the best it can.”
That is not an answer. That is a moving violation. By the final scene, the husband is outdoors holding a pillow while his travel bag rests nearby. Muffin the raccoon leans out of the window and delivers the official ruling:
“He had several possible answers. He selected homelessness.”
The moral is simple: honesty may be important in a marriage, but timing, kindness, and survival instincts deserve some attention too.
